Writing Session Participation Policy

Purpose of Writing Sessions

Creative Slingers of Ink Writing Sessions provide dedicated time for writers to work on their projects, connect with fellow writers, discuss writing-related topics, and make progress toward their creative goals.

Writing Sessions are designed to be productive, encouraging, and focused on writing.

Age Requirements

Writing Sessions are open to participants age 11 and older.

Participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to attend.

Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to request confirmation of parental permission when appropriate.

Expectations for Participants Under 18

Participants under the age of 18 are welcome to participate provided they are able to work independently and contribute to a productive writing environment.

Creative Slingers of Ink Writing Sessions are not a childcare service, babysitting service, tutoring service, or educational program.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for the supervision, conduct, and well-being of their minor children.

Respectful Participation

Participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with kindness and respect.
  • Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Avoid disruptive behavior.
  • Respect differing writing styles, genres, experiences, and publishing paths.
  • Follow any venue rules and requirements.
  • Support a productive atmosphere for everyone attending.
AI Content

Creative Slingers of Ink supports human-created writing and creativity.

Participants are welcome to discuss technology, editing tools, publishing tools, and writing resources.

However, Creative Slingers of Ink does not support the use of AI-generated writing as original creative work and encourages participants to create and develop their own stories, articles, books, poems, and other written works.

Photography and Social Media

Photographs may occasionally be taken during Writing Sessions for promotional purposes.

By participating, attendees grant Creative Slingers of Ink permission to use photographs taken during sessions for websites, newsletters, social media, and promotional materials.

Participants who prefer not to be photographed should notify the session organizer.

Participation and Removal

Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to deny, suspend, or revoke participation when necessary to maintain a positive, productive, respectful, and safe environment for all attendees.
