Creative Slingers of Ink exists to support and promote human creativity, storytelling, writing, and artistic expression.
Our community, events, programs, contests, and promotional opportunities are designed to showcase the work of real writers, authors, artists, and creatives.
AI-Generated Writing
AI-generated writing is not permitted in Creative Slingers of Ink events, programs, contests, memberships, featured author opportunities, promotional activities, or event participation.
All written work submitted to Creative Slingers of Ink must be the original work of the individual submitting it.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Books
- Short stories
- Poetry
- Articles
- Blog posts
- Scripts
- Marketing copy submitted as creative work
AI-Generated Artwork
AI-generated artwork, illustrations, book covers, promotional images, character art, backgrounds, and other visual creative works are not permitted in Creative Slingers of Ink events, programs, contests, memberships, featured artist opportunities, promotional activities, or event participation.
Book covers and artwork must be created by a human artist, designer, illustrator, photographer, or creator.
The use of AI-generated elements within a larger design, including AI-generated backgrounds, scenes, characters, objects, textures, or visual components, is also prohibited.
Authors and artists are encouraged to utilize stock photography, licensed artwork, original photography, commissioned artwork, and other human-created resources when developing visual materials.
Acceptable Uses of Technology
Creative Slingers of Ink recognizes that technology can be a valuable tool in the creative process. Tools used for spelling, grammar, proofreading, formatting, accessibility, organization, administrative tasks, image cleanup, background removal, resizing, color correction, and similar support functions are permitted.
Examples may include Grammarly, ProWritingAid, background removal tools, image editing software, and similar tools that assist creators in refining, editing, organizing, or presenting their own original work.
However, these tools may not be used to generate the creative work itself.
Creative writing, artwork, illustrations, book covers, promotional graphics, and other submitted works must remain substantially human-created and may not contain AI-generated creative content.
Verification
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to request clarification regarding submitted work and may deny participation, remove content, revoke benefits, or refuse future participation if work is determined to be AI-generated.
Agreement
By participating in Creative Slingers of Ink events, programs, memberships, contests, and promotional opportunities, participants affirm that the work they submit is their own original creation and complies with this policy.
