No. Writers and creatives at all experience levels are welcome. Whether you’re working on your first project or your fifteenth book, you’ll find a supportive environment to create and connect.

Do I have to share my writing?

No. Sharing your work is completely optional. Many participants simply come to focus on their projects and enjoy the accountability of writing alongside others.

What types of projects are welcome?

Our sessions are open to a wide variety of creative projects, including novels, short stories, memoirs, nonfiction, blogs, journaling, poetry, screenplays, illustrations, content creation, and more.

What should I bring?

Bring whatever helps you create, whether that’s a laptop, notebook, tablet, sketchbook, planner, or other creative tools.

Is there a cost to attend?

No. Our writing sessions are free to attend.

Do I need to attend every session?

Not at all. Join as often as your schedule allows. We’d love to see you whenever you’re able to participate.

Can beginners attend?

Absolutely. Our sessions are designed to be welcoming and encouraging for writers and creatives of all experience levels.

What happens during a virtual writing session?

Participants check in, share what they’re working on, set goals for the evening, and spend focused time working on their projects. The atmosphere is supportive, encouraging, and productivity-focused.

What happens during an in-person writing session?

Participants gather in a relaxed environment to work independently on their creative projects while enjoying the encouragement, accountability, and camaraderie of fellow writers and creatives.

Do I need to RSVP for in-person sessions?

Yes. RSVPs help us plan seating and ensure there is space available for everyone attending.

How do I join the virtual writing sessions?

Virtual writing sessions are hosted within the Inkwell Community Circle. Join the community to access session information, meeting links, and ongoing creative support.

Can I attend both the virtual and in-person sessions?

Absolutely. Many participants enjoy taking advantage of both options depending on their schedule and preferences.

Purpose of Writing Sessions

Creative Slingers of Ink Writing Sessions provide dedicated time for writers to work on their projects, connect with fellow writers, discuss writing-related topics, and make progress toward their creative goals.

Writing Sessions are designed to be productive, encouraging, and focused on writing.

Age Requirements

Writing Sessions are open to participants age 11 and older.

Participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to attend.

Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to request confirmation of parental permission when appropriate.

Expectations for Participants Under 18

Participants under the age of 18 are welcome to participate in Writing Sessions provided they are able to work independently and contribute to a productive writing environment.

All participants are expected to:

  • Behave respectfully toward others.
  • Avoid disruptive behavior.
  • Follow session guidelines.
  • Participate appropriately in discussions.
  • Maintain a writing-focused environment.

Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to remove participants whose behavior interferes with the experience of others.

Not a Childcare Service

Writing Sessions are not a childcare service, babysitting service, tutoring service, or educational program.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for the supervision, conduct, and well-being of their minor children.

Writing Discussions

Writing Sessions often include discussions about writing, publishing, creativity, books, author experiences, marketing, and related topics.

Participants are welcome to ask questions and engage in these discussions.

However, Writing Sessions are not writing classes and do not provide formal writing instruction, curriculum, assignments, or educational coursework.

Participants are encouraged to use the time to work on their own writing projects and connect with fellow writers.

Participation

Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to deny, suspend, or revoke participation when necessary to maintain a positive, productive, and respectful environment for all attendees.
