MEMBERSHIP TERMS
Overview
These Membership Terms govern participation in Creative Slingers of Ink memberships and member benefits. By purchasing, renewing, or participating in a Creative Slingers of Ink membership, members agree to these terms.
Membership Access
Creative Slingers of Ink memberships are available on either a monthly or annual billing basis.
Membership benefits are available only while a membership remains active and in good standing.
Members receive access to the benefits associated with their selected membership level as outlined on the Memberships page.
Benefits, opportunities, and resources may vary by membership level.
Membership Renewals
Monthly memberships automatically renew each month until cancelled by the member.
Annual memberships automatically renew each year until cancelled by the member.
Members are responsible for managing their membership status and cancelling future renewals if they do not wish to continue their membership.
Membership Cancellation
Members may cancel their membership at any time.
Cancellation stops future renewals but does not cancel the current membership period.
Monthly members retain access through the end of their current billing cycle.
Annual members retain access through the end of their current membership term.
Membership fees are non-refundable as outlined in the Refund Policy.
Use of Membership Benefits
Membership fees provide access to opportunities, resources, programs, events, promotional benefits, and other membership features associated with the selected membership level.
Participation in those opportunities is the responsibility of the member.
Creative Slingers of Ink communicates available opportunities through its website, email communications, newsletters, social media, and other official channels.
Failure to participate in events, attend writing sessions, utilize resources, submit materials for promotional opportunities, schedule available benefits, or otherwise take advantage of membership offerings does not qualify a member for a refund, credit, or adjustment.
Membership fees are paid for access to benefits and opportunities, not for any guaranteed level of participation, promotion, visibility, sales, publication, attendance, or individual results.
Promotional Benefits
Promotional opportunities, featured author placements, website listings, event advertising, social media promotions, newsletters, and other visibility benefits are available only to active members in good standing.
If a membership expires, is cancelled, becomes inactive due to non-payment, or is terminated, Creative Slingers of Ink may remove promotional content from its website, newsletters, social media channels, event materials, and other marketing resources.
Meet the Author Events
Author Members scheduled to participate in Meet the Author events are expected to communicate professionally and fulfill their event commitments.
Creative Slingers of Ink understands that emergencies, illness, family matters, severe weather, and other unforeseen circumstances may occasionally prevent participation. Members who are unable to attend or who must leave early are expected to communicate as soon as reasonably possible.
Members who fail to attend scheduled events, leave early without communication, repeatedly fail to fulfill commitments, or otherwise demonstrate unreliable participation may be subject to:
- Removal from future Meet the Author events.
- Removal from event advertising and promotional materials.
- Suspension of membership benefits.
- Cancellation of membership.
Membership cancellations resulting from these circumstances do not qualify for a refund.
Member Conduct
Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully in all Creative Slingers of Ink programs, events, meetings, online spaces, and communications.
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for behavior that is disruptive, abusive, dishonest, fraudulent, harmful to the community, or inconsistent with the mission and values of Creative Slingers of Ink.
AI Content Policy Compliance
Members are expected to comply with the Creative Slingers of Ink AI Content Policy.
The submission, promotion, display, sale, or representation of AI-generated writing, AI-generated artwork, AI-generated book covers, AI-generated illustrations, or other AI-generated creative works in violation of the AI Content Policy may result in:
- Removal from events, programs, contests, promotional opportunities, or membership benefits.
- Removal of promotional materials, website listings, featured placements, and advertising.
- Suspension of membership privileges.
- Termination of membership.
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to request clarification regarding submitted work and to determine whether submitted content complies with the AI Content Policy.
Membership fees are non-refundable in cases involving violations of the AI Content Policy.
Membership Changes
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to modify membership benefits, pricing, programs, policies, events, resources, and offerings at any time.
Reasonable notice will be provided whenever practical.
Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any updated membership terms.
