EVENT POLICIES
Overview
These Event Policies apply to Creative Slingers of Ink (“CSI”) events, including but not limited to festivals, expos, author events, artist events, networking events, promotional events, and similar programs.
By submitting an application, registering, paying a participation fee, sponsoring an event, exhibiting, or otherwise participating in a Creative Slingers of Ink event, you agree to comply with these Event Policies, as well as the Terms & Conditions, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and AI Content Policy.
Eligibility
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application unless specifically stated otherwise.
Creative Slingers of Ink does not accept applications from minors for author, artist, vendor, exhibitor, sponsor, speaker, or event participation opportunities unless specifically stated otherwise.
By submitting an application, participants certify that all information provided is accurate and complete.
Application Approval
Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into an event.
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to approve, deny, waitlist, revoke, or remove applications at its sole discretion in order to maintain event quality, balance, safety, and alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
Check-In Requirements
Participants are responsible for arriving and checking in by the published event check-in deadline.
Failure to check in by the designated deadline will result in forfeiture of the assigned space, table, booth, or participation opportunity.
No refund will be issued for forfeited spaces resulting from failure to arrive or check in on time.
Creative Slingers of Ink may make exceptions in cases of emergencies, severe weather, accidents, or other unforeseen circumstances when timely communication is provided.
Early Departure
Participants may not tear down, pack up, or leave before the published event end time unless approved by Creative Slingers of Ink due to an emergency or unforeseen circumstance.
Unauthorized early departure will affect eligibility for future Creative Slingers of Ink events and opportunities.
AI Content Compliance
All participants must comply with the Creative Slingers of Ink AI Content Policy.
AI-generated writing, AI-generated artwork, AI-generated book covers, AI-generated illustrations, AI-generated promotional materials, and other AI-generated creative works are prohibited as outlined in the AI Content Policy.
The use of tools that assist with editing, proofreading, grammar correction, spelling correction, formatting, accessibility improvements, background removal, image cleanup, image resizing, and similar non-generative functions is permitted.
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to request clarification regarding submitted materials and to determine whether content complies with the AI Content Policy.
Violations may result in removal from the event, promotional materials, directories, advertising, future participation opportunities, or other Creative Slingers of Ink programs.
Blind Date with a Book
Blind Date with a Book bundles are permitted only when they contain books written by the participating author.
Books written by other authors may not be included in Blind Date with a Book bundles. The exception is anthologies that include the participating author.
The purpose of Creative Slingers of Ink events is to connect readers directly with participating authors and artists and to showcase their original work.
Display and Content Standards
All visible books, artwork, displays, signage, promotional materials, products, and exhibits must be appropriate for a general audience.
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to require the removal of materials that are misleading, offensive, disruptive, inappropriate for the event environment, or otherwise inconsistent with event standards.
Promotion and Marketing
Participants grant Creative Slingers of Ink permission to use submitted biographies, photographs, author photos, artist photos, logos, book covers, artwork, website links, social media links, event information, and promotional materials for event promotion and marketing.
Promotional materials may be used on websites, newsletters, social media platforms, event programs, printed materials, advertising campaigns, and other marketing channels.
Space Assignments
Table, booth, exhibit, and participation space assignments are determined by Creative Slingers of Ink.
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to adjust space assignments when necessary due to venue requirements, event operations, participant changes, safety concerns, or other circumstances.
Inclusive Environment
Creative Slingers of Ink is committed to creating welcoming, respectful, and inclusive events for authors, artists, readers, attendees, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners.
Participants are expected to treat others with professionalism, courtesy, and respect regardless of age, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, publishing path, writing experience, or creative medium.
Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, hate speech, personal attacks, or other exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated.
Participants are expected to contribute to an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and respected.
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is determined to be disruptive, discriminatory, harassing, hostile, or inconsistent with the values and mission of the organization.
Removal for violations of this policy does not qualify for a refund.
Community First
Creative Slingers of Ink events are designed to foster connection, creativity, encouragement, education, visibility, and community.
Participants are expected to support a positive event experience for attendees and fellow participants.
Actions that create unnecessary conflict, disrupt the event experience, damage the reputation of the event, or undermine the welcoming nature of the community may result in removal from the event and future participation opportunities.
Participant Conduct
Participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally, honestly, and respectfully at all times.
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to remove, suspend, or terminate participation for conduct that is:
- Disruptive
- Abusive
- Harassing
- Dishonest
- Fraudulent
- Threatening
- Harmful to attendees or participants
- Inconsistent with the mission, values, or policies of Creative Slingers of Ink
Such actions may occur without refund.
Emergencies and Unforeseen Circumstances
Creative Slingers of Ink understands that emergencies, illness, family matters, accidents, severe weather, and other unforeseen circumstances may occur.
Participants are expected to communicate as soon as reasonably possible when circumstances affect their ability to attend or participate.
Reasonable accommodations and flexibility may be provided when appropriate.
Photography and Media
Creative Slingers of Ink events may be photographed, recorded, livestreamed, or otherwise documented for promotional, educational, archival, or marketing purposes.
By participating in a Creative Slingers of Ink event, participants grant permission for photographs, video recordings, and related media containing their likeness, display, booth, artwork, books, or promotional materials to be used by Creative Slingers of Ink without additional compensation.
Policy Violations
Creative Slingers of Ink reserves the right to deny, revoke, suspend, or terminate participation for violations of these Event Policies or any other applicable Creative Slingers of Ink policies.
Such actions may include removal from current events, cancellation of future participation opportunities, removal from promotional materials, suspension of memberships, or other actions deemed necessary to protect the event, attendees, participants, and organization.
